Meet Mr GIRISH RAO, a man with extraordinary skills and vision
His achievements are as diverse as his skills.
He is a choreographer, Entrepreneur, a Skill India Award winner and a business IT guy.
Let me elaborate few of his achievements:
In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious Skill India Award, for his outstanding contribution to dance and choreography for under privileged kids.
In 2020, he was invited to TEDx Getway- which is India's largest independently organised TED event, for his unique idea about a health care app. Mr Rao, was well aware of the problems, patients and their families face while looking for blood at hospitals and blood banks. Although millions of units of blood is donated every year worldwide, at times looking for a suitable donor or matching blood group becomes extremely difficult. Here comes the app, called as "HEALTHPLUSAPP" , a brainchild of Mr Rao, which makes the entire process convenient and less time consuming.
The app enables it's users to check a donor's eligibility, side-effects, pathogen reduction and inactivation of donated blood. It also highlights the roles of the various departments involved in ensuring appropriate protocols are followed.
Additionally, patients or their families can use the app to trace their required blood group by attaching the receiver's Adhar Card. Usage of Biometrics in the app, saves those precious minutes before a life-saving medical procedure.
Am sure, all of us remember how difficult the COVID 19 pandemic and its subsequent lockdowns has been for every Indian. There were massive job cuts in both organised and unorganised sectors. Mr Rao, came up with ideas to make their lives a tad better.
He with the help of an NGO, provided groceries to many needy families in Hyderabad and Mumbai. He even started a fund raising campaign on social media to help more of such families. Mr Rao, who's a brilliant artist, made pencil sketches of people and charged a nominal amount of Rs 250/- for each sketch. His ideas have always been unique. His help reached the interiors of Telangana and many tribal families received the benefits.
He received appreciation from the then Cyberabad Police Commissioner, (Telangana) Mr Sajjanar, who tweeted about his contribution to the society.
Mr Rao reached out to the choreographers and background dancers who lost their source of livelihood during the first lockdown.
He created business accounts on social media, to provide a platform to these dancers to reach out to clients for online classes. He also collected CVs and trained almost 200 individuals for various full and part time work from home vacancies.
WORDS OF MR GIRISH RAO
I have always had a very curious mind and love to accept challenges. I believe that instead of only looking at our problems we need to focus more on solutions. This is what motivated me to look for alternatives to assist the needy families during the lockdown. Looking at them struggling to arrange food for their children, made me more aware about the growing gap between the rich and the poor in our country. I was determined to do as much as I could to bridge this gap and make the privileged ones wake up to the problems of the poorer sections.
You don’t have to be very rich or affluent to be able to help someone. But you need to have a desire to lift others up, and this can happen only when you do not consider your own problems to be the only ones.
It's very important to stay motivated in our lives. Good or bad no matter whatever comes your way, you have to stay focused and never forget your goals. Find your happy place or a thing that can inspire you to be your best version. For me, it has always been DANCE. When I see my students performing on stage or just enjoying themselves, I know I have done something right.
Learning a skill or keeping an open mind will always go a long way in changing your life for the better. I always advise the future entrepreneurs and youngsters to not limit yourself to the known. If you want to be successful, you have to challenge yourself and keep pushing your boundaries.
My personal quotes towards successful career path.
1) When you are with winner's conversation is different.
2) There are two type of people in this world
One is a leader the other is a follower.
I want to end this by quoting something from the BHAGVAD GITA- "THE EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS ARE WAITING OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE. GREAT THINGS CAN HAPPEN TO THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO TAKE RISKS".
