She was marked as a Best Emerging Interior Designer Professional of the Year and featured in Forbes 2019 under globally recognized Indian business leaders.

Apart from this, Kakoti also bagged four national awards in 2018, like the ‘Young Female Entrepreneur of Northeast In Interior Designing’ title at the India Leadership Awards 2018 in Bangalore.

She clinched another award for ‘The Leading Interior Design Firm’ in Guwahati for her firm KA Design at India’s Most Prominent Architect and Design Awards 2018 by Merit Awards and Market Research.

Meanwhile, at the National level, Karishma was awarded as the 'Most Innovative Interior Design Consultancy Firm', presented by Bollywood Actor Sunil Shetty in 2018, and 'Young Female Entrepreneur’ of North East In Interior Design, presented by Bollywood Actress Soha Ali Khan in 2018 and very recently from Mahesh Bhupathi in National Excellence Summit 2021. KA Firm also got in Forbes 45 under 45 for a design that got recognized in Excellence In Interior Design In Spain 2020 for its uniqueness as it’s all detailing on northeast culture.

Karishma Born and brought up in Assam,

Kakoti’s early education began at Digboi Carmel and later completed her schooling from Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Guwahati in 2008. After high school, she moved to Delhi, Noida in 2010 and got armed with a B. Sc degree in interior designing along with a Gold Medal with distinction from Amity University in 2013 which eventually opened several career doors for her. Karishma started her journey into the design world and decided to never look back. She received numerous offers from different companies as well as a master’s scholarship. However, her journey was not limited to only studies but she has won a lot of awards in extracurricular activities from dance and paints and being Amity's best dancer during her days at Amity University.

KARISHMA's first achievement before being a gold medalist can be marked as best in interpersonal skills and team spirit and that’s where she felt she can be an entrepreneur in the long run. She is young, energetic, and innovative and brings something different and unique designs and with over 5 years of experience in Interior Designing, KARISHMA is creating magic in the world of interior designing with her creative skills. Creativity is her best trait from space planning to decorating and designing.

As a fresher, Karishma started working with famous architect Bobby Mukherjee after she passed out and handled her first project for Marriott hotel. With all her professional skills and initial experience, she decided to pursue the most exciting part of her career and choose to be an entrepreneur. With a few years of experience in interior designing, Karishma shifted to Bangalore to start something new and that's where she founded her firm KA design in 2016 when she got to know that she can handle clients and sites of her own. That confidence got her today and now they have a branch in Guwahati too and she calls it her empire.

 Kakoti has always had a sixth sense when it comes to creativity. From her teen days as a painter, her dream had always been to pursue her passion and explore the business aspect of it. As she would always say, “having my passion as my business is something I will always cherish”. Like all others out there, she wanted to return to her home state and do something. With sparkling eyes full of dreams to contribute to Assam and North East India, the best way she could find herself is to bring her KA design from Bangalore to Guwahati which she completed in 2017. It all happened when she got her first project in Kharguli, Guwahati which was a challenging yet interesting project of sustainable design work. 

The project was not only her first work but being specialized in Green – sustainable interiors, she gave her best to satisfy her client that later took a turning point for people to connect her back and it all opened up the same interest work.So this first project in sustainable design got few awards as in first International Award in London in 2019 as Best Emerging Interior Designer Professional of the Year and featured in Forbes 2019 under globally recognized Indian business leaders.

Her communication skills and dealing with the clients' problems on time always gave the best results. Her hard work and effort has made her who she is today, along with the most important skill of following her passion to take it to the next level. One should always have fire inside them when it comes to imaginative and creative thinking skills and possess the ability to analyse and critically assess problems. A good designer should have the ability to see the big picture as well as be able to give attention to the smallest detail whatsoever. In this field, you learn many new things, explore new places and meet new people. She believes Creativity is best thought of as a kind of effort, not an abstract thing. But no creative person in history was creative in a practical sense without applying effort to some kind of project. whatever you want in life."

Some locally recognized achievements are Eudoxia – creative entrepreneur 2020 in Guwahati University, Entrepreneur of the year Khafiya 2019 by Assam Talks, Byatikram Youth Icon Award presented by Ghajhal maestro Pankaj Udhas, award in Subansiri Fest for recognition and outstanding service for Interior Design Work, and rated as No.1 Interior Firm in Guwahati by threebestrated.com website.

 When she was selected in the top 100 designers of India in Design Divas, India, this gave her a lot of recognition for her works. She was overwhelmed knowing that her handwork and mind ideas are reaching the people. One of them is the NOKA butterfly sofa we launched in 2018 in the motif of naga prints and it went haywire as it carries the cultural taste and richness within. This went everywhere in the national field and it took them to India's most prominent architect & design awards 2018- in a leading interior designer firm in Guwahati.

 That’s when they started our KA bespoke for furniture that carries only styling from the northeast. They have a few more like the stiletto chair – under style statement genre and many more on the way.

 

KA Designs is currently dealing in residential ,commercial and hospitality projects and is a full-fledged company with 12 employees including her. Their projects are more inclined towards minimalism as a theme and USP of the company along with sustainability as that’s the future.

Whenever you feel down, remind yourself why you chose architecture and then Focus on yours and push your idea to its limits. Explore the limits of your concept, then be confident in articulating it and be firm in defending it. Nobody can say your piece of rock is of the wrong shape. Treat your work like a baby; it is your brainchild. 

She becomes successful not only because of her hard work but also because of her soft heart towards others. Her kind heart and good deeds help many youngsters get motivated with her . She motivates millions of people with her work. Her determination, dedication, and constant thrust for achieving something the highest in life become reasons for her successful life. She plans to help many more such youngsters and to elaborate on her helping circle.
