Kiruthiga Nadaraja

. Meet Kiruthiga Nadaraja, a software lead consultant and crown winner of the title Mrs.New England Universe USA 2024 . 

She celebrates her birthday on 17th of February and was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India which hails as her native place too. Later, as her family moved to Chennai, she was raised in Chennai. She did her schooling and engineering in Chennai.During her interview with Ms Venture, Kiruthiga shares about her initial days,“I pursued my pre- high school education, i.e. from 1st to 10th grades from Maharishi Vidya Mandir senior secondary school located in Chetpet, Chennai, India ,primarily affiliated to CBSE board education. Later, I moved to their state syllabus education wing during my high school ( 11th & 12th grades) with science and mathematics as my main subjects for high school.

I did my engineering in information technology from RMK Engineering College affiliated to Anna University. I originally wanted to pursue medicine and specialise in oncology. I had a great passion to pursue oncology, which was transitioned to me through some of my family members who excelled in the same field back in my home town in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, India. Their service to the community through medicine, inculcated the same in me. My mom originally hails from Namakkal , Tamil Nadu and I have a deeper connection to this town However, I ended up pursuing information technology and was happy with my decision. As computer science & programming always helped me to challenge myself. Currently, I live in the state of Massachusetts, USA. It’s been closer to 10 years since I moved to the USA.”When asked about her IT journey, Kiruthiga says, “I’m a software professional. Though my family has a deep rooted business oriented background , I chose to do Engineering and pursue a career in those lines . 

I started my career back in India. To be more specific , I was working in consulting and mainly specialized in building software with BPM technologies . Fast forward today, I’m here in the USA. Currently ,I work for an American consulting firm in Boston, USA as a software lead consultant. My main stream of work is aligned to quality & data engineering competencies. I’m passionate about what I do and I love my work . I love the fact that we get to work with modern technologies and support building products through our consulting services, that has a major direct impact on the people & communities around . While my passion lies with life sciences, one of my recent works to help build a product that supports cancer genomics mainly used for immunotherapy treatments is a satisfying milestone in my career journey. Also, my work with a biopharma client to help build a product that supports data scientists analysing the clinical patient journey and help provide treatments for multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease gives me a sense of impact that I could help the community around. Furthermore, I had an opportunity to build together a digital patient solution that manages large volumes of complex life sciences data with an incredible group of team members recently in my current consulting firm . I consider this as one of my accomplishing chapters in my career journey, as it helped me explore my talents and solutions providing abilities. 

I feel contented that I get to work and offer ideas on innovative solutions in my field of work . I’m grateful to all my colleagues who crossed my paths in the current firm where I work, for supporting my career path. I have definitely met great minded and humble people who will stay closer to my hearts and have shaped my personality, offered mentoring to be the individual of where I’m today & guided me through the right opportunities.My gratitude also goes to different people whom I have met throughout my career, and who have been a support system to me.”Kiruthiga also gave a glimpse of her pageant journey, “ Since my high school days, I have been spotted by people from media streams who have offered me to debut in a movie, play an anchor role for a show and so on ! Also, I do have interest in arts and learnt music and dance during my middle school days. But, I was not very passionate about having a career in those lines . Recently, when one of my dear friends and colleagues motivated me to take part in one of the famous pageant events that is hosted by a brand name My Dream TV here in the USA, I thought I should go for it.

I learnt being in pageantry also helps to build your confidence, it’s an approval for your authenticity & personality. Because the kind of costume you choose, the way you present yourself in front of a big audience talks about your inner self.Owning a crown is just not about winning. It is also about having an added feather to be able to offer something to the people outside. I think as a crown winner one must make sure to be a positive influence to the people outside. Be able to motivate a lot of people outside to pursue their dreams and passion.

This gives me a motivation to empower a lot of women out there to pursue their dreams & support broader communities around for their vision, success.”She also shared the challenges she faced- “I would not say challenges faced. Instead, I would call it as it’s fine to fail out of my own personal experience. As much as I have had successes, I have also seen failures many times. But, we should learn to get the key lessons from our failures and move on from there . Instead of victimising our own self, finding ways to get over our failures, applying lessons learned is the path to success .Take some time to know your strengths and weaknesses. Try pushing yourself to an uncomfortable zone sometimes to see what you are capable of , or accomplish something that you thought you may not be able to do . These are from my own life lessons . Most of the times to beat my own imposter syndrome , I tried getting out of my cocoon. If you are successful with your new trial , it’s your strength, if not keep trying or change lanes to see what could be your alternative zone where you can succeed.”

Her heartfelt advice to today's youngsters- “Learn to build your skills. When you focus on yourself in a way where you are building skills to pursue higher in the career field you want to excel in, it gives you confidence.

Connect with the kind of people with whom you can resonate with , be of support , care for you. When you are building your network , build it with whom you can genuinely connect with, gain inspiration and build inner confidence. Most importantly if you want to grow , always stay grounded and have a clear vision for your life . 

Take time to self reflect on yourself now & then .”

Kiruthiga also showed her gratitude towards those who have supported her in this journey, “I want to thank My Dream TV USA and the wonderful people that I have met through this platform they have offered. My pageant journey with them has definitely empowered me and has provided lots of motivation to pursue my dreams . It’s been a great positive influence in my life journey.

Just not that, all my family, friends, colleagues, pageant sisters who have been pillars of support and have always motivated me to fly higher !”.Her imaginative thinking and comprehensive approach towards life and her profession are excellent examples for others to follow her lead.
