Devesh Gotawat

Meet Devesh Gotawat, a proud son of Bengaluru and a graduate of Jain University, chose the unconventional path in 2017 by venturing into the import and trading business of iron, steel, aluminium, and scrap materials.
During his interview with MS Venture, Devesh shares about his journey and challenges: “ One memorable day, I was having a heartfelt conversation with my close friend, Sudeshna Das Bohra. We were discussing the personal struggles I was going through at the time. As she offered me emotional strength and kept encouraging me to stay positive, our conversation gradually shifted towards entrepreneurship and new business ideas. That’s when Sudeshna shared something that truly inspired me — the idea of launching a healthy, flavoured makhana snack. Makhana was gaining popularity across India, but most of the options available were sold at premium prices, making them less accessible to everyone. The thought of creating something healthy, affordable, and within reach for all immediately resonated with me. I decided, right then, to build a brand that would offer quality snacking without the heavy price tag. That’s how **Snackhana** was born — a brand built on empathy, wellness, and inclusivity. Bringing this vision to life wouldn’t have been possible without Neha Dassani, who quickly became the backbone of Snackhana. From shaping the product and designing the brand identity to building our marketing strategy, Neha put her heart into every detail. Together, with our shared passion and unwavering support for each other, we turned an idea born from personal struggle into a movement for mindful snacking.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was strategic pricing. In a market dominated by large players, it was crucial to offer premium quality while remaining affordable for health-conscious consumers. We tackled this by carefully studying our competitors, defining our unique value proposition, and smartly optimizing our sourcing and packaging — all while ensuring we never compromised on taste or quality. I believe in aligning my purpose with my passion. I consciously surround myself with positive energy — whether it’s through supportive people who believe in the brand, encouraging customer feedback, or staying inspired by global wellness trends. I set achievable milestones and make it a point to celebrate each one, which helps me keep the momentum and the spark alive, even during challenging times. Sudeshna Das Bohra, Yash Daga ,Amit ,Jitesh and Neha Dassani have been much more than just collaborators on this journey — they have truly been guiding lights. Their unwavering belief in me and in the vision behind Snackhana has been a constant source of strength, especially during the most challenging and uncertain phases. There were days when self-doubt crept in, when the obstacles seemed too overwhelming to overcome, but their encouragement and steadfast support always reignited my drive. They not only contributed to the brand’s growth but also helped shape its creative and strategic direction. Much of what I have built, both personally and professionally, has been deeply influenced by their insights, their resilience, and their ability to see potential even when I couldn’t. I am genuinely grateful for their presence — without them, this journey would not have taken the shape it has today.”
His heartfelt advice to the viewers: “ Start with clarity — know why you’re doing it. The food industry, especially health-focused segments, can be challenging and rewarding at once. Build your brand on authenticity and consistency, seek mentors early, and be open to learning from both wins and failures.” Their current focus is on scaling Snackhana — expanding into modern trade, collaborating with wellness influencers, and growing the brand’s presence on platforms like Zepto, Amazon, and Blinkit. An exciting line of limited-edition seasonal flavours is also in development, which Devesh is eagerly looking forward to launching soon.
His entrepreneurial journey was far from smooth. Life didn’t offer him shortcuts or easy victories — instead, it tested him with storms that challenged his emotional resilience and mental strength. There were moments when giving up seemed like the simpler option, but Devesh made a firm promise to himself: no matter how difficult the road became, he would rise — not just for his own sake, but for his family, who remained his unwavering support, and for those who always believed in him.
Throughout his journey, friends like Amit Burad, Jitesh Bafna, Neha Dassani, and Sudeshna Das Bohra stood by him, offering strength when everything else seemed to crumble. Their belief reminded him that success isn’t measured merely by figures, but by the courage to keep moving forward when the world expects surrender.
Today, Devesh continues his journey with renewed purpose — not only to build businesses but to build trust, create value, and leave behind a meaningful legacy. He now channels his experience, struggles, and passion into crafting brands that are affordable, impactful, and rooted in integrity — like Snackhana, a venture born from hardship and shaped by his heart.
Because in the end, every entrepreneur may have a product — but not every entrepreneur has a story. Devesh Gotawat certainly does.
He became successful not only because of his hard work but also because of his soft-heartedness towards others. His kind heart and good deeds have helped many youngsters get motivated with him. He has motivated a number of people with his work. His determination, dedication, and constant thrust for achieving something the highest in life became the reasons for his successful life. He struggled with a lot of things before getting to where he is today.
Best wishes from his side, and he welcomes his clients to join his page.
The team of Ms Venture wishes him best of luck for his future endeavours.
